The Application form for BHU UET 2019 is released on February 10, 2019, on the official website. BHU Law 2019 Eligibility Criteria

The interested aspirants willing to take admission in the Banaras Hindu University for the available law courses must note the eligibility criteria for the courses. Only those students matching the eligibility criteria will be offered admission in the BHU. Check below the eligibility criteria set by BHU.

LL.B. (Hons.) (Bachelor of Laws) – B.A./ B.Sc./ B.Com./ Shastri (at least 10+2+3 pattern). The students need to have scored at least 50% marks in the qualifying examination.

Those students who have completed their 10+2 from open schools or graduation from open colleges will not be eligible to apply.

BHU Law 2019 Courses

LL.B Programme

The LLB programme is offered to the students who have completed their 10+2+3 education. This means the candidates need to have completed their schooling, as well as a three-year graduation course. However, candidates can be from any background in terms of field of 3-year graduation course.

5 Year Integrated BA LLB Programme

BHU Law 2019 Exam Pattern

Bhu law 2019 exam structure is given below.

LL. B. (Hons.) (06 Semester -3 Years)

  • Total number of the question shall be 450 marks containing 150 multiple-choice questions.
  • Duration of paper of 120 minutes (Two hours).
  • Questions will be based on General Awareness and Current Affairs, Common Legal Knowledge, Aptitude and Mental Ability.
  • The Paper will include two sets of multiple choice questions on Language comprehension, one each in Hindi and English, where the candidate is required to answer either the Hindi language set or the English language set but not both

B.A. LL. B. (Hons.) (10 Semester-5 Years)

  • Total number of the question shall be 450 marks containing 150 multiple-choice questions.
  • Questions will be based on General Awareness and Current Affairs, Legal Aptitude and Mental Ability.
  • Paper will also include multiple choice questions on English comprehension.

Banaras Hindu University Fee Structure

  • Fee for the 3 year LLB Course: Rs.60,000/- per annum
  • Fee for the 5 year LLB course: Rs.60,000/- per annum

Banaras Hindu University Law Admission Procedure

Candidates have to satisfy the eligibility requirements to take admission in Banaras Hindu University. After the examinations, the students will be issued electronic call letters. As soon as the students will receive the call letters, the candidates will be able to login to the candidates portal on the official website. Students will also get the notification for the availability of the call letters on email and the registered mobile number.

Important: It is possible that due to some technical reasons, there may be non-delivery of SMS/Email to the candidates. Therefore, the students have to make sure that they keep on checking the official website after the declaration of result.

Banaras Hindu University Counselling Procedure

The counselling process begins after the declaration of the BHU Law Entrance Exam result. BHU has adopted the online counselling process. BHU 2019 Counselling will be conducted in online mode. Students can check below the counselling procedure from below.

STEP 1: Online Preference Entry

The Online Preference Entry happens after or on the issuance of the call letters; but, before the counselling date. Candidates after the issuance of their call letters will be able to complete the Online Preference Entry from the candidate segment of the entrance test portal. In the call letters, the students will receive the password, through which they can log in and fill up the below details.

  1. Honors Subject
  2. Choice of Course
  3. Preference of location
  4. Seat Type
  • Honors Subject: For BA(Hons)
  • Choice of Course: This option is available if the candidate takes admission to more than 1 course on the basis of the marks obtained in a common test. (Some of the UG programmes).
  • Preference of location: This option has to be filled if the chosen course is available at the more than 1 location.
  • Seat Type: If the candidate wants regular fee seat or the candidate wishes to take admission in the paid seat if the regular seats are filled up.
Important Note

Students should ensure to carefully fill the order of preference. It must be well checked that no section of the preference sheet is left blank. However, if any mistake is committed, need not worry. Candidates will get an option to make changes in the application form on the day of counselling. The admission to the paid seats will be done after the regular seats are completely filled.

STEP 2: Activity on the day of Counselling

1. On the day of counselling, all the students will reach the counselling venue at the date and time prescribed to them.
2. Next, the students will mark their attendance by signing on the attendance sheet.
3. At this stage, the students can discuss with the teachers about the courses and in case the student wants to change the preference, they can do so at this stage.
4. After the preference entry form gets finalized, the students have to get a printout of the same and submit it along with the original documents.
5. The computer will allot the seats in order of merit, the order of preference filed by the candidate and the availability of seats.
Provisional admission – If you are provisionally admitted, you will collect the provisional admission letter from the counselling centre in charge at 10 Am. Those students who will be admitted provisionally will get an admission letter with the name of the course, amount of fee to be paid and the deadline for fee payment.
If the candidates are provisionally admitted they have to pay the Course/ Paid Seat Fee in addition to regular Fee of the Course
Mode of Payment – After the candidate receives the provisional admission fee, he/she has two for the payment of an admission fee
  • Online payment through Credit Card/Debit Card.
  • Payment of the fee amount in cash.
STEP 3: Activity on the next day of Counseling date
Now, the students have to submit the proof of payment of admission fee to the counselling centre. Candidates have a deadline to pay the application fee which is latest by 04:00 PM. Those candidates who have paid the fee in online mode need not submit any such proof.
Important Points to be kept in mind
  • After each day of counselling and the deadline of payment of a fee, the computerized allotment of seats is done. Chances are that there can be an upward shift of the candidates. This happens according to the preference filled by the candidate and in the event that the higher seat gets vacated.
  • Candidates must be having all the necessary documents. all the important documents such as the concerned marksheets will be entertained at the time of admission. In the event that the candidate fails to submit the fees in the time period, the admission of such a candidate will be considered canceled.
